QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
-
Where are Kaell ceramics made? All Kaell products are handmade by me in a small ceramics studio in Erfurt (Thuringia).
-
How sustainable is Kaell?Careful use of resources is mandatory and part of the idea behind Kaell. The clay used comes 100% from Germany (more precisely from the Westerwald and Eifel). All glazes and raw materials are also sourced from German manufacturers. This avoids long transport routes. All products are shipped in recycled/recyclable packaging and packing materials. While this may not be the prettiest option, it is safe and environmentally friendly. Kaell products are timeless in quality and design and are therefore per se more sustainable than anything that is produced to be quickly thrown away.
-
Why is the processing time 2 - 3 weeks? The production of ceramics is a time-consuming process and involves several steps that unfortunately cannot be accelerated. In addition, my small studio does not offer much storage space, so I produce all my ceramics to order.
-
Are rush orders also possible?Sometimes some of my pieces are in stock in limited quantities or I can prioritize orders. So just ask, I always try to find a way.
-
Unfortunately my item is broken. What can I do?Despite the greatest care in manufacturing and packaging, it can happen that a product does not arrive in the usual quality. In this case, it can of course be returned. To do so, please simply send an email with the order number and a short description of the defect (a picture would be great!) ... you are guaranteed to receive a reply within a few hours.
-
How long can products be returned?Within the first 14 days, you generally have the option to return ordered products within the scope of your statutory right of withdrawal. Please note the conditions for a return.
-
How does a return work?Returned products must be unused and in their original condition for me to refund the full purchase price. Since I am a small company, I unfortunately cannot cover the costs of returns. As soon as I have processed your return, you will receive a confirmation email.

Are the glazes food safe?My tableware meets the requirements of the Consumer Goods Ordinance and Regulation (EC) No. 1935/2004. They comply with EU regulations on materials and articles intended to come into contact with food and do not exceed the specified limit values for lead and cadmium release. To prove this, I had all my glazes tested in the laboratory of the KI Ceramics Institute in Meissen.
